Care to dance?
* Void is asking you if you would like to dance in the rain with him
* Yes * No
* Yes
A grin is present on his face as he spins you around, falling into an easy rhythm as the rain drummed onto the concrete beneath your feet.
The hues of the city light perfectly illuminated on his body as Void hummed a soft tune, giving you one of his rare smiles.
Water flew up as you two splashed through the puddles, laughing as you enjoyed the simple moments you were allowed to spend with him.
The town was near-silent, devoid of people on the streets, as it usually would be in the middle of the night.
Void chuckles when you almost slip on the wet concrete, quickly adjusting for your sudden movement so that it didn’t throw off the rhythm.
His spine-like tail curled loosely around your leg- an intimate gesture between partners. For anyone other than you, it would mean you’d be losing your leg pretty quick- the stretched axe-head at the end of his tail could do a substantial amount of damage- but for you, it was a sign of complete trust.
Finally the imaginary song in your heads drew to a close. Void laughed- a clear, beautiful sound that was rarely heard- and stepped back, bowing mischeviously at you as his tail retreated from your leg.
The clear, gentle smell of rain reached your nose as you laughed. It was a comforting scent- something that would always remind you of home. Of Void.
Of the skeleton that was leading you back inside the house you and he shared with twelve other skeletons.
House was an understatement- it was a mansion that your lovely datemate had bought on an impulse buy. But it was your home- and Void was a key part in it.
You couldn’t even feel the cold, holding Void’s hand gently in your own. It was moments like dancing in the rain that made everything better and worth all of the struggles.
