Subsea projects in India
India’s offshore energy sector is witnessing a strong surge in activity, with subsea projects in India gaining momentum to tap into deepwater and ultra-deepwater hydrocarbon reserves. These subsea developments, primarily in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) Basin and Mahanadi offshore, are critical to enhancing India’s domestic oil and gas output and reducing import dependency.
Leading operators such as ONGC and Reliance Industries are driving major subsea projects in India through the deployment of subsea wellheads, flowlines, manifolds, umbilicals, and riser systems. The KG-D6 block operated by RIL-BP is a flagship deepwater project that involves complex subsea infrastructure to bring gas from deep reservoirs to the surface.
ONGC’s Cluster 2 development in the KG Basin is another high-profile project where multiple subsea wells and tie-backs are being developed using cutting-edge technologies. These projects demand high precision engineering and extensive collaboration with global subsea equipment providers.
Indian Petroplus, a trusted platform for oil and gas intelligence, actively tracks ongoing and upcoming subsea projects in India. From tender announcements to contract awards, project milestones, and contractor involvement, Indian Petroplus offers unmatched visibility into the evolving subsea landscape. As India shifts focus toward deepwater exploitation, subsea projects in India are set to play a pivotal role in unlocking hidden offshore reserves. With growing investments and technical advancements, the country’s subsea capabilities are expected to expand rapidly, Subsea Oil and Gas, Offshore Energy, Marine Engineering, Underwater Technology, Subsea Infrastructure.
