Horton Plains in Sri Lanka - A UNESCO World Heritage
Horton plains situated in Nuwara Eliya District. Nominated as a world heritage list. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 meters (6,900–7,500 ft.). It has rich biodiversity. The Horton Plains are the headwaters of three primary Sri Lankan rivers, the Mahaweli, Kelani, and Walawe.
