@AdelaidaVineyards 2016 HMR Estate Chardonnay ($40): This is one of those Chardonnays you do not want to serve too cold […like refrigerator cold]. Cellar temperature (55°) brings out the wine’s charming personality, lovely texture, and inviting aromas [bigly!]. Grown at higher elevations in chalk-rock soils, flavors of apple tart, fresh melon, puff pastry and lemon curd are framed by subtle notes toasty brioche and sweet oak. A fine mineral-tinged acidity provides balance and lift. @VinaRobles 2016 White4 (SRP $16): This refreshing estate blend is composed of Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, and Vermentino – all of which perform well in Paso Robles vineyards. There are inviting aromas of orchard fruit, honeysuckle, citrus peel and orange blossom. It is full and expansive in the mouth. The palate mirrors the nose, enlivened by bright flavors and firm acidity, ending with a pleasing mouthwatering finish. Rush – 2112 (1976): Probably my favorite #Rush album (heck, I listen to it 2x a month). It was the perfect backdrop to tonight’s #UnexpectedPaso #wine tasting. Truly a gem, this album would go on to influence countless 80s progressive hard rock/heavy metal bands. And if you’re really listening, there is a lot of texture and melody coming from just 3 dudes.
