Here’s a little preview of chapter 10 of Unfettered Warmth. I’ve been pouring over it for a day and I’m so happy with how this chapter is turning out. It’s soft and sweet and I’m really proud of my writing here. I’m editing it slowly so it’ll probably be finished late today/tomorrow but for now, enjoy this.
From their conversations abroad before they’d come together, Victor knew that Yuuri had sleepless nights and often found time to occupy himself during those times. He checked his phone. 3:46AM. No text messages so Yuuri must be within the house somewhere. Victor hopped out of bed and put on the first things he found on the floor: Yuuri’s oversized blue hoodie and a pair of shorts. Anyone who saw the outfit would probably assume he wasn’t wearing any bottoms with how long the hoodie was.
He slid his phone into the pocket of the hoodie and exited the bedroom to see Yuuri concentrating down at some books with a pair of headphones on, blissfully unaware that Victor had entered the room. His hair was messy and the shirt he’d thrown on was one of Victor’s own, it fit a little loose around the neck and shoulders, and one of his collarbones was protruding. Victor was taken back by how beautiful Yuuri was in the glow of the moonlight. It made him look ethereal, like he might disappear as soon as the sun rose; Victor just wanted to hold onto him in that moment.
Victor started padding quietly over to Yuuri, not wanting to scare him. Yuuri must’ve felt the small vibrations through the flooring and looked up, lips stretching into a smile as he looked at Victor. He’d never get used to that; the way Yuuri looked at him even at four in the morning when tiredness should be at its peak. Even then, there was still so much love and Victor felt the same tug on the corner of his lips when he smiled back.
