GUINEAFOWL SAGA
I had guineafowl at one point, 30 of them. They were cool but super-weird birds. They were silent growing up so I let them out to free-range, and HOLY SHIT they were noisy, all the damn time. Around. The. Clock. @monkeyfrog had warned me, but I really had no idea. My neighbor flipped and called the sheriff and then animal control. I finally managed to wrangle them back into this pen with a ton of treats and true story - sold them to a deaf farmer out in the high desert. I dreaded the drive, figuring they would be noisy like cats in the car, but they LOVED riding in the car. The pens were at window height and they kicked back and checked out the view the entire time making little purring noises.
Sometimes late at night, when I have insomnia already. I can almost hear them shrieking at the moon
