fOR the kiss meme! Ipposendo neck kiss !
“Sorry we don’t have more space, Sendo-san. It would have been this or the living room, and I --” Didn’t want you that far away? I hated the idea of you being under my roof and still sleeping in my room alone? “I wanted to make sure that I could get you anything you needed if you woke up in the middle of the night.”
Ippo was sweating as Sendo snickered and peeled off his shirt. The futons were so close they were practically on top of each other. “Sure, Makunouchi, sure. But seriously, s’fine. Jus’ promise you won’t get mad if I gotta take a whizz in the middle of the night and kick ya on accident.”
“Would you be more comfortable on the outside? We can switch if you --”
Sendo’s chuckle turned into a full laugh. “Oh my God, I was just messin.’ C’mon, ain’t ya ever had anyone sleep over before?”
“Actually, no.” Ippo blushed slightly as he turned the light off and then rested on his back, pulling the covers up and staring at the ceiling. “Not like this, anyway.”
“Well, y’know,” Sendo said, quietly, reaching over to worm his hand under the blankets and slip it into Ippo’s. “I’m real happy t’be yer first.”
Ippo prayed to every god listening that his hand wasn’t starting to sweat. Why was this so unnerving? It wasn’t like they hadn’t...well, there was his whole visit to Osaka not even a few months ago, the night at the hotel, and...well, this was different! They were in his childhood home. After Sendo left, he would be stuck here, remembering what it was like with him not even a foot away, his thumb rubbing the back of his hand, the way it sounded as his breath deepened into sleep, snoring just occasionally.
How was he even supposed to fall asleep like this?!
He closed his eyes and started counting, and he figured he must have nodded off at some point because when he woke up that small amount of space between was non-existent. Sendo had thoroughly sprawled out, one muscular arm across his stomach, his head angled oddly at his shoulder. In the soft glow of moonlight from the window, Ippo could see his face, peaceful, mess of hair even wilder and tickling his arm a little.
With his neck stretched like that, it was hard - no, impossible - to resist kissing it. Just once. Where was the harm? He hadn’t planned on lingering, though, taking in Sendo’s warmth, his scent, the drowsy, slow beat of his heart.
A sharp intake of breath through Sendo’s nose made him jump a little, and wide eyes suddenly blinked at him, and he could swear he could hear his lashes flutter, in the silence of the room.
They stared at one another, neither saying anything.
Then, they both seemed to be moving, closer, Sendo pulling Ippo onto his side and against his chest while Ippo put his hand around his hip, the other cupping his face, smoothing hair behind his ear, and they were both kissing each other, lazy and slow. They paused to breathe, and in the faint light Ippo could see a glint of Sendo smiling before leaning in again, this time with his tongue tentatively journeying to find his. Warm hands fumbled over the hem of his shirt until they got under it, kneading at Ippo’s back in a soothing stroke of his muscles.
Somehow, he got back to Sendo’s neck, pressing his lips across it, up to his ear, nuzzling the short hairs around it. Sendo responded by wrapping a leg around his, bringing him in as tight as he could, almost crushing.
“Ippo,” he whispered into the dark, and Ippo let out a shaky breath. “Ippo.”
After another moment, Sendo moved to hold his face in his hands, kissing his nose, his cheeks, each of his lips and then both, murmuring against them. “Like ya...like ya so damn much, Ippo…”
“Me too. I mean, I...I like you, Takeshi…”
There was that chuckle again, but this close, it was like soft thunder before a sweet rainstorm. “Yeah, I know what ya meant…looks like you were right after all.”
“Good thing I slept with ya,” Sendo said as he kissed his forehead and shifted until they were both comfortably entwined. “I woke up and ya knew jus’ what I needed.”
Ippo couldn’t stop smiling even as he fell asleep, staying that way through the rest of the night.
