The GOP veep candidate embraced the extreme view that today's left is part of a centuries-long effort to "destroy" civilization.
The Nameless Amalgamation, in all their leathery glory
Day 4, Lady White! Self proclaimed medium and attic dweller
Been working on my artfight character profiles and I decided to throw Nameless and Beetle in there! My good lads
Day 1 of Drawtober! Not following any particular prompts, just using this as an excuse to draw characters from my mad scientist headworld.
Today's drawing is of Beetle the Homunculus!
The Nameless Amalgamation, done in ink! My sweetest monster
So, for context, my grandparents are bigoted Midwestern Christians. They are old, fearful, and don’t really get people who they never spend any time trying to understand. I found this book “Unhumans” as, like a coffee table piece? And, woah boy, is it picturesquely fascist.
With quotes from such renowned and stable geniuses such as Donald Trump Jr, Tucker Carlson, and a retired Lieutenant General of the US army (all qualified to discuss literature and maybe even read a book), the book’s cover really speaks for its identity:
So, um. I think a lot of this is obviously kinda fearmongering. The thing that is most obviously wrong with it? The one that really takes the cake for me at least is this:
And I just. Like. Make this make sense, book publishers. If the book doesn’t want to be about politics, put this shit in fiction? Lifestyle? This shouldn’t get to be a valid political science book. For a vast number of reasons, but this one most obvious.
I hate this pattern where people build a world where they “don’t” have politics and ideology. If they did, it could be observed, commented on, critiqued, have actual consequences, and, god forbid, change. Instead, they just have “truth.” And GOD FORBID people critique “truth.” Unless it’s not their truth, then it’s actually lies and needs to be destroyed as soon as possible. Anyways. Fuck.
People have to be humble to learn and grow. I can only take solace in the fact that I might be different and good one day and people with too much pride in their leaders will be the same and afraid forever. That I might one day become something they’re scared of.
