Applying for university or undergrad admissions 2018 (my experience)
Hi there! I've just finished applying to several unis here in Singapore! After a Long Tiring process of writing and scanning documents (😂)! I actually can't wait for Uni to begin in late Aug. Finally, I feel I've chosen something that I love for further studies!
Before applying for a certain university, I did hours of research on my preffered course, admission requirements, documents needed, where is it etc. This way, you will have a checklist of all important documents you need before you submit your application!
All unis require you to write a personal statement in less than 300 words. Hence, you should start drafting your essay at least 2 weeks before the scheduled dateline in order to make it somewhat PERFECT! 🤓you can include your academic interests, reason for choosing the course, CCAS/work experience relevant to the course and your future goals!
Here is a useful link on how to write a PS: https://youtu.be/JWxFVtSUAsQ
Next, some unis may require you to scan your documents like testimonials, results etc. If you don't have a scanner at home like me, you can download this app called TapScanner. The app will convert the docs to PDF which you can then save and upload onto the University website.
You can visit open houses for more info on the particular Uni admission process or call them!
Also note that there's a specific admission fee for each application. So make sure you get them ready too.
under discretionary admissions, you may need to submit an appraisal form for your application to be Sucessful. Please contact your teacher one week before the deadline so she/he has enough time to write it for you.
Lastly, you can watch YouTube videos for university application tips & advice. My Favourite is one of Niomi Smart's! Link: https://youtu.be/UQvNsULgqP8 & Thomas Frank https://youtu.be/Ey-cAHDme2s
I hope you enjoyed this post. Share to others to help them too! 🌻❤️😸
