//Okay, I never admitted this before, but Bru-mun’s blog, like you Lex, was one of my Tumblr crushes well over a year or two before I actually started following.
I got to know Brunnie through your RPs together since at least 2014. At the time, I was writing my muses in a short story format on a sideblog through my personal, so I really didn’t get too involved in the roleplaying community asides from yours. But I thought Brunnie was just TOO COOL for me. So would I have thought that one night I’d find the both of them crashing into my blog and eventually have OOC chats? Absolutely not. Am I happy that it did happen? Absolutely. And I would never take it back for anything.
Even in the following month after becoming mutuals, I doubted it, thinking, ‘Oh, my blog is too soft. Is my blog the right follow for them?’ Then I see a post from mine gets reblogged. ‘Hey, she likes me! YOU PICKED ME! YOU PICKED ME!’
To think that this all started because I only said that I wanted to write for her story concept, something that didn’t actually end up happening until nearly a year later. I thought that Bru would have gotten tired of waiting and call quits on me! But she stuck around and when it happened it was an EXPLOSION, and only then did our muses had a true connection, and able to start write out their relationship. I’m so grateful that she’s taken a chance on my writing under the creation of her world, and that it all fits and she likes it. Once again, I’ll chant, ‘YOU PICKED ME! YOU PICKED ME!’
Okay, but less on that and more about Brunnie and Bru-mun… Brilliant. That’s all I really have to say. They’re just so brilliant. From the artwork to stylizing to writing to the basic character development; headcanons alone, there is so much thought and research that goes into it— it shows and it pays off. Where does this brilliant mind come from? Then when Brunnie is given a voice, even in short-answer responses, the witty and sarcastic tone is always on-point and entertaining. And even with Brunnie’s character evolving, she always stays consistent; no major discontinuities, and being around for four years, that takes skill to maintain that consistency and compellingness in a character and story, which a team of supposed professionals sometimes falters in a long-running series (Bru-mun doesn’t need a team nor needs to be deemed a professional to have exceeded their quality).
I’ve also heard news and learned about politics a lot more and a lot more quickly through her OOC posts than from any other internet sources. She is so passionate, and stands up to what she believes in. That’s a profile of a leader and a hero. And she’s also pursuing what she loves doing. I admire that so much about her, for all of it. I’m so lucky to not only have gotten to know both muse and mun, but to be able to consider as one of my friends.
I can’t wait to buy her novel.
