@unintentional-nightmares liked this for a starter.
Things were surprisingly calm. The waves were gentle for the first time in a while, the steam engine was chugging away mostly quietly, and he’d just been enjoying the first nice trip he’s had out on the sea in a while. Usually the rough waves and his menagerie would pollute the travel in abundance. But, as per usual with most things, the knock on the bridge door broke that peaceful atmosphere. Which, really, was an odd interruption.
Few were the Pokemon of his that were curtious enough to knock, the only exception being the shiny Zoroark of his, though she usually stayed below deck with the rest. And beyond the door when he opened it was something he didn’t see coming. How could he? Chris usually met Nocturne on dry land, not out at sea.
