So I’m a union thug. If you’re on my blog and this isn’t immediately obvious, then I’ve failed somehow, but that’s not the point here. I also knit (see my lovely hitchhiker scarf?? It’s TIG, their Rios colorway which was SADLY only a limited edition). I was at conference today and this guy came up to me to say that he saw this ‘scary biker lady’ up front but then he saw me knitting and he had to say I wasn’t so scary anymore. I just went ‘oh but here’s the thing... knitting means I’ve always got these sharp pointy sticks here’ He gave a loud laugh and scampered. And I know, I KNOW he meant to be harmless & funny, but ffs I’m so goddamn sick of people dismissing feminine things just because they’re ‘inherently’ ~feminine~ Me knitting doesn’t somehow make me some cute tame little thing. I’m sharp. I’m pointy. Even a kitten can draw blood.
