The colorful “Reversible Destiny Lofts” in Tokyo are dedicated to the memory of Helen Keller, which begs the question, why don’t we have something like this here???  This “house to not to die” has been dedicated to the memory of Helen Keller, because the building provides different uses for each individual according to their physical abilities.

You apply to live here just as you would any apt. Go to the site and check to see if there are any vacancies, and apply. There are 2 unit styles- 

The Kehai-Coordinating Unit is suitable for 4 people.

And, the Critical Resemblance Unit is for a couple.

The apts. are meant to prolong life. While there are spaces that a three-year old could use better than an adult, there are spaces that a seventy-year old may be better suited to explore.

Our bodies, which are different from each other, change constantly. By inhabiting a space that does not allow you to think of it as something that is self-evident, you can realize that you can do things that at one point you thought were impossible.

What a concept. 

Who wouldn’t want to live in a happy, colorful place like this? 

The building also opens up new possibilities in thinking about the social role of art.

The “ultrachromatic” building is painted in 14 colors.

All of the apt. layouts are in the round, with the kitchen in the middle.

Very intriguing apt. decorated by a French designer. In some of the blogs I follow, people are either buying or acquiring free floral sofas, and this shows that they do fit into modern design.

I’m fascinated by her design- she put up 3 fancy chandeliers plus a single bare bulb, then draped a red wire between them that doesn’t seem to serve any function. The living room set is pink & green, yet she did the kitchen in bright contrasting red.

She also has some retro lighting.

Red kitchen, blue Smeg fridge.

Now, these cannisters are interesting. She’s also added some vintage gold touches.

She put a gallery wall in the loo with lovely gilded frames.

The bedroom in the apt. has a pony wall with a sink and a tub shower behind it. This is such an interesting apt. The pony wall has shelving for the bedroom side.
