"I'm dying."
The unit was shaken to high alert as he was told such a phrase. “I-I-I-I-… sick-sick-sick bay!” The unit shouted quite loudly, his nerves on the edge of the rapid fire that seem to go with his neurons. The unit began to violently shake at the words then propelled himself forward to meet the agent. He held a hand then with no thought of his own, the programming going to the basic information it was coded with, grabbed the agent. He pulled the agent on his shoulders and carried him off to the medical bay area to see the medical physicist, Helena. “Do-don’t worry sir we get you better.”
"I love you."
The unit blinked a few times before he settled into the words that were being spoken to him. The young male unit didn’t know what to say or what to do he thought of nothing as a logical response to such a word. The word was such an abstract thought, it had many meanings in such a phrase. But the reason why the boy couldn’t speak was because of who spoke the words. The words were spoken from a unit whom in the eyes of any other male human would be quite speechless. Not to mention the unit gave the boy a sense deflating self-confidence.
She was a statue of grace and he was a stumbling fumbling fool whom had no way of speaking. His words jumbled. His speech was forward and of the speed that was quick as lighting. He would have never expected such a thing from her. With such an exchange the young unit knew gift giving was a good idea as a way of making the other being know that whom they spoke to understood and felt some sort of the same emotion. A reflection of their words through a gift. The boy rummaged through his own small knapsack that he carried around the massive ship.
Placing his fingertips on an object he took hold of a new invention. The unit slowly pulled the item from the heavy fabric, it was a sphere of metal. “For-for-for-for——um…um… you.” He said cautiously, the unit walked forward and placed the item gently on the other’s palms. “You-y-ou-you hold it-it and-and blow-blow air-air on it-it, then it-it blooms…” The unit paused then continued to say, “It-it-it’s a-a-a …. an-an… auto-auto-automated lotus flo-flower.” He said to her as he stared at the female unit. “Do-do-do you like it?”
Log 1: Data Entry : Self
My speech has not lifted from the natural language it concentrates on. Through observation I have found that none of the units in the batch or any of the ones that I have encountered adheres to the difficulties of speech as the way I do. I wish to figure out the reason to why my language is in such a state, though there is nothing with my machinery, I sense there is something to my speech that is unknown to me. My brain has retreated to no slumber as of yet and I have been carrying the weight of such a thing, though units do not sleep we do have a mode for it. The mode is sensitive to reach. I can't sleep. There is no function. I am not useless. I am not useless.
Let us see all the lights...together.

Creation and development report of Artificial Intelligence 2003: Unit Indus; “Ian”
2583-8-7; 0000 HRS: Creation of Artificial Intelligence or A.I Indus. Identity Code 2003. Given the human name of “Ian”. Unit is not responsive at the beginning of cycle. The Director is closely overseeing the progress to reach final decision of discharging said Unit.
2583-8-7; 0900 HRS: Unit Indus, “Ian”, is submitted to testing facility. He is being tested for the mental processes of the brain to see if there was a mechanic error.
2583-8-7; 1200 HRS: Testing resulting in shocking evidence. Testing of Mental passage, Neuro-development and mechanics have come to claim an alarming result. Unit Indus, “Ian” has a striking neurological brain order. The nerves have been caught on live second feed which shows us that the neurons have been firing an alarming rate, much faster than the other A.Is in the batch. Results of test have been delivered to Director, awaiting further instruction.
2583-8-8; 1100 HRS: Director spoke to Unit Indus, “Ian”, and the unit has responded. We are baffled as to why the unit took long to claim such a speech, seeing as the test results yesterday concluded to a hyper active activity in the “brain” of the unit. Upon further questioning and observation it was concluded that the A.I lacks the emotional mimicry that was presented in some on the first batch it will be further stated upon my own observation that Unit Indus didn’t reply to the beginning trails because of the human reference to a name which Unit Indus like the batch represented has refused to take the human name as their own. Unit Indus is not to be referred to as “Ian” but as Indus or Unit Indus.
2583-8-9; 1200 HRS: Unit Indus has been submitted to for further testing on physical and mental facilities. The results of this testing will determine the unit capabilities and if it is a strong unit.
2583-8-9; 1700 HRS: It seems that the ability of “fight or flight” is deeply embedded in this Unit. When the stimulation holds itself, the unit seems to use the “flight” mode of his brain quite often. I have recognized his ability of speed. His agility is quite fascinating as well. He is able to have sheath on his side as well; this seems to evolve onto his demeanor as well.
2583-8-10; 1400 HRS: Tests have continued. Though Unit Indus have come on top with his high octane speeds, his combative abilities have ranked weak against the other units in this batch.
2583-8-11; 1800 HRS: Tests are completed. Unit Indus’ current ranking on the scale: Combative: 7. Weaponry: 6. Warfare: 8. Unit Indus’ highest grade was in Warfare including the details that consist in the subject matter. His mind was able to, in real time, go beyond the expected and pick up certain patterns and other techniques that were thrown at him which he dodge these attacks with ease. This makes him a palpable unit even if his combative and weaponry skill is low.
2583-8-12; 1830 HRS: Gave Unit Indus a simple rubix cube. The cube was filtered to the highest level of difficulty that the machine could afford. Indus solved the cube in a time that was untimely shocking.
Conclusions:
Unit Indus has been an astonishing A.I to transfer through. Unit Indus, I believe has unbelievable process of thinking that should be further explored which constitutes to his continuing of the program. His thinking process can receive images, instructions and other items with many degrees of difficulty as shown in the detailed results behind this report, I have as well recorded the “brain” of Unit Indus to continue further exploration of it. I have only recorded the five that were tested and each time the neurons of his brain have seem to fire in such a speed that many other units have had but have short circuited after a brief time. This speed of thinking have damaged the unit though, after further social observation, I have seen that Unit Indus is a quite boy. His social activity has been hinder by his process ability and also his ability of clear coherent speech. I have concluded he to be a fit in the project. I suggest, Director, to place him in a Team Gamma. Here I believe he can gain what he missing and/or we may see a breakthrough of the emotional mimicry that this batch is lacking. Furthermore, I would like to see Unit Indus continue further studies of his speed as well. I believe an agent that would benefit him would be someone who is an extrovert and is able to pull the young A.I out of his “shell.”
