“I don’t need an assistant!” Leoncomplained.
“When you manage to find time to take careof yourself then we will talk about that”, Chloe said firmly and left Leon witha bunch of applications.
“I take care of myself”, Leon said afterher, but quietly.
In the end, he had no choice. He lookedthrough the applications systematically and fast, wanting to get back to his researchas fast as possible, and made his choice.
To be fair, he looked only at the qualificationsand education. That is why he didn’t even know the face of the one he chose. Itwas just not important.
But that’s why he was so surprised whenthere was someone he didn’t know saying something weird and bowing slightly.
“I’m looking forward to working with you.”
“Huh?” Leon looked at him confused. “Whoare you?”
“What do you mean who? I’m Jay, your newassistant.”
“Oh”, was all that Leon said.
“Oh?” Jay was not expecting this when heapplied for a job.
“I’m so sorry. He is always like that. Theonly thing he sees is his job”, Chloe quickly apologized.
“He was always like that”, Jay sighed,especially when he saw Leon already forgot about their presence and got back tostaring at a screen.
“You two know each other?”
“From passing in school. But I guess hedoesn’t remember.”
“That’s why I wanted him to hire an assistant.I thought if someone was helping him, he wouldn’t constantly forget to eat andsleep and say that’s because he’s busy”, Chloe crossed her hands and huffed.
“You mean he will lose an excuse…” Jay felta bit of regret for accepting this job.
“Take care of him now, thank you!” Chloesaid and ran away.
There was a sound of someone hitting thewall. “Ouch.”
Jay looked at Leon who walked right intothe wall and apologized, as if he bumped into a person.
“I did not apply for babysitting.”
*three months later*
“Leon, I heard you were sick so I came…”Chloe hurried into Leon’s apartment and was stunned with the scene before her.
“Drink this!”
“No, it’s gross!”
“What?” Chloe gaped confused at the sceneof two grown man fighting over medicine.
“Chloe, save me!” Leon turned to her and reached for her, hisface desperate. But Jay didn’t back down and was still trying to get him todrink his medicine.
“I’m happy you two managed to get soclose”, Chloe laughed, suddenly relaxed.
“Close?” Leon stopped which gave Jay achance to shove medicine in his mouth.
“Mphh.”
“Go back to bed and wait, I’ll bring dinner”,Jay sighed but was satisfied with his efforts.
“I thought you were supposed to be anassistant, not a housewife”, Chloe slipped.
“I’ll have no one to be an assistant to ifhe starves to death”, Jay blushed and went to the kitchen.
Chloe followed Jay into the kitchen. Jay wipedhis hands on his apron and put a pot on the stove, heating something up.
“How is it working with him? Is he stilltrying to make everyone leave him alone?”
“Most of the time. Practically no one eventries to talk to him anymore. Everyone respects his work, but they all think hehas bad personality”, Jay sighed. “Sometimes he allows me to help him with work”,he smiled slightly, grabbing a bowl and pouring some soup in it.
“Oh, really?” Chloe looked at him surprised.“He must really trust you then.”
“Trust me?” Jay blushed.
“Why are you blushing?” Chloe giggled.
“Well-I mean- He is famous scientist, Ilook up to him, when you say something like that…” , he blushed even more.
“I’m glad he chose you as his assistant”,Chloe smiled happily. “Well, I’ll leave him in your care then”, she said andleft the apartment.
“I’m glad too.”
“Jay, where did you leave papers from lastexperiment?” Lean shouted to him.
“They are on your des-“, Jay started to answerthen stopped. “Wait! You are sick! Go back to bed!” he shouted and ran to stophim from leaving the bed.
There isn't enough Juushinki Pandora/Unit Pandora/Last Hope stuff on this site and it makes me so sad. I need more Doug Horvat and Emelia stuff in my life!
