The weekend zoomed by. Spent my Sunday cleaning the house and finally installinng my new workstation. There’s still a lot of work to do and a few extra things to buy but this L-shaped desk is gonna do the trick.
When I started radio full time back in October I just launched into it using the desk I’ve owned since 2012, a sturdy, solid oak office desk from the ‘40s, but it just wasnt cuttin’ it. It felt like a broadcast studio had just been dropped onto a video editing suite which was laying atop a recording studio.
So now everything has its space. It feels much tidier.
Basically my brain today. Can’t get anything done. Even installing Luna has been a chore.
Countdown leader + a Les Paul Special.
Here’s the signal chain I was using on the UA Arrow last night. Fender Jaguar DI into the UA-610B for some warmth > RE-201 to make it bounce > ATR-102 to glue it all together. This about maxes the DSP on the Arrow but it works for me.
I haven’t plugged into an actual amp in quite some time.
Testing out the new Neve 1084 preamp.
Had to file my radio column from home yesterday. For morning radio you want that in-studio energy but given everything going on... yeah I’ll stayy home. So I rigged up my UA Arrow, AKG 214 and the 610B preamp and I think it sounded pretty good over Skype.
