Throwback from April 2017 ✨🍀
“My friends and I got the chance to hang out after hours at Islands of Adventure for Universal Knights! From getting soaked on Popeye's, to running through giant spider webs and old bunkers, to accidentally starting the ultimate rivalry, our night was certainly one to remember!”

Me + the 🍩 that almost killed me.
That moment when u had an awesome day at universal but now u gotta work until 8 am
First day out with the cane: mostly successful.
I've had the thing since last week, but have not needed it for long periods in public. Short outings - out to eat, quick run to the grocer, stuff like that. Yesterday was the annual Universal Knights, when the school rents out Islands of Adventure and the students take over. I'm a student. We went.
The first couple of hours were ok. I was able to leave the cane in the car for most of that part. When my back and hip started tightening up and getting sore, I sent Joe out to the car to get the cane (and the jackets, since the sun was getting ready to go down and it was getting cool). From that point forward it was... less than amusing.
By the time he got back, the park staff, security, and the extra officers they had on duty had started to herd all of the day guests out. It was down to just UCF people. In the approximately three hours we were there after the special event started, three people tried to kick the cane out from under me - one definitely on accident, not sure about the other two; four people threw body checks and failed to knock me over; multiple groups tried to push past and cut in lines (with varying degrees of success); and it eventually got to the point that Joe put his arm out to physically block people from cutting between us, shoving, or running into me from behind.
It's a fun event. People go around in large groups of friends, and are drinking, laughing, and having a good time. That's a wonderful thing! That's also not an excuse to be absolute dicks and not pay attention to what you're doing. That's not an excuse to run people over - whether they're fully able-bodied or not.
Also, thank you to those people who made a conscious effort to give a little extra room when you saw people with mobility aids - wheelchairs, crutches, or canes. You were noticed, and are greatly appreciated.
What an amazing night
