Universal Smile
I love the people here (when they're trying not to sell things to us). They are a happy people, constantly yelling "bonjour" to us, asking how we are. They enjoy practicing their English, asking us if we are from Chicago or from New York. They enjoy talking to us...and selling us things. They yell hello at us from across the street.
One thing that I've come to realize is that the smile is universal. We may not speak the same language but when we wave and smile it says something. It says that no matter what language we speak, we are both happy that we are there in this beautiful country together.
