Eat something different
Living in the Residence Halls I get tired of the food really easily. Plus it is very healthy for you. I like to treat myself to dinner with friends at least once every couple weeks (usually a lot more often to avoid cafeteria food). There are so many awesome places that some people never know about because they don't think there is much beyond campus. There is a ton beyond campus. Today I am going to talk about two restaurants that most people think they can't afford but really they can.
1. Maialina. This place is AMAZING. It is traditional Italian style pizza. This means there is only a little cheese and mostly toppings and sauce. It is really light and pretty healthy for you. It seems like it would be expensive but if you go with a friend and share a pizza it comes out to be about $6-7 each before tip. Not bad. You would pay more than that at Qdoba. Dare you to try it.
2. Nectar. It is this adorable little restaurant downtown that seems to be the hang out for professors and old people who can afford expensive wine. Not the case. Yes, there are a lot of expensive things on the menu but look closely. I recommend getting the Mac and Cheese. It is the cat's pajamas! It is made with cougar gold cheese and is only $6 for the entree but you can get a mini one from the appetizers for $4. If you get a mini one then you can complete your meal with a side salad that is also $4. Total of $8 before tip. That isn't too expensive in comparison to other restaurants in town.
Whether you are coming here next fall or you are currently a student here, I highly suggest visiting these delicious places. They maybe expensive but you can make them cheap. Living on a college budget is fun huh?
