The Russell House: The Heartbeat of USC

Hi! My name is Ryan Adam and I am currently a student at the University of South Carolina. I have been chosen to write a blog about campus life, with the topic of where I like to hang out on campus.  Hopefully my answer is both interesting and helpful and I hope you enjoy reading it!

Whether you are stopping by between classes for a quick bite to eat or hanging out for a longer period of time, the Russell House has just about everything any college student could need.  Serving as the student union for the University of South Carolina, the Russell House is the main hub for students while they are on campus and a place I love to hang out.

If its mealtime, the Russell House has lots of great options.  First off, there is a two-floor dining hall featuring a full cafeteria on one floor and a second floor of national food brands such as Chick-fil-a, Einstein’s Bagel’s, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.  Additionally the Russell House offers several unique restaurants such as the Horseshoe Deli and Pandini’s, which serves phenomenal pizza and Italian food.  And to top it all off, the Russell House also has a Marble Slab Creamery to satisfy any sweet tooth.  With all these options to choose from the Russell House is a great place to grab a meal and catch up with friends.

The Russell House also has lots of entertainment options for students throughout the week.  Featuring its own movie theater, the Russell House shows two movies every Thursday through Sunday.  Movies range from recent releases to old classics, but something interesting is always playing.  And if you feel like playing some games, then look no further than the Golden Spur Game Room. This student lounge features pool tables, Ping-Pong, foosball and some video game consoles making it a great place to kick back and relax with friends.  Lastly, if you would like some quiet time with a good book, then the University Bookstore can be found on the bottom floor of the Russell House as well.

Overall, the Russell House has so much to offer whether it be food or recreation. It’s a great place to meet up with people or just hang out between classes because there is always something interesting to do.  As such, the Russell House at the University of South Carolina is one of my favorite places to spend time on campus.  Thank you for reading!

Dearest Juice Jammers, 

A third artist has been discovered, thanks to the sleuthing of @bradslavin. The Neighbourhood will be playing at Juice Jam this year. They are best known for their hit "Sweater Weather," but for those of you who have already seen them live, they are also known for their obnoxiously attractive lead singer. 

The discovery was made through a press release this past July announcing the concert tour dates for the group. Their September 8th tour date reads, "SkyTop Field." Put away your pipe, Sherlock Holmes. We can put Wishbone back in his crate. The mystery of the third artist is solved.

There are several more artists being announced by University Union tonight at 10:00 PM so prepare your underwear for whatever they have in store. Until then, grab a wool blend pullover because there's a 100% chance of sweater weather.
