The University of North Texas is actively censoring Palistinian art and art in general in it's main galary.
My college usually allows students to exhibit their art in the main building where all the meeting/food/shops etc are. And there was this pretty well done pro Palestinian exhibit showing this month. The exhibit space being at a cross section where you go to get food/enter so it had a lot of traffic and was unmissable
This caused a bit of stirring as although alot of the remarks were positive, they were accused antisemitism by a couple of texas politicians. Causing the artist themselves to take down the "offending" peice.( this being the teddy bear bomb one).
The exhibit handlers also usually have small books left out so that people could leave comments on the exhibit in them. Although the comments were mostly positive. In this case the comments had a lot of pro Israel/anti Palestinian remarks drawn all over it and it basically became like a message board where pro Israel and anti Israel proponents would leave comments on each other comments or scribble them out or draw on them etc.
The politicians state that using the word "genocide" makes the work antisemitic, and also called for the cancelation of a lecture titled “The Palestinian Children and Politics of Genocide,” for similar reasons

this pic is where the books should be.
I'm not sure if some one stole the books or the artists themselves took them down but they were no longer there when I cam to look at them.
this pic is where the peice was, as it was removed and replaced with an uncomfortable bench. A default thing the exhibit handlers put if there's no art occupying the space.
there were two artists working on the exibits, here are their statments
this occured many weeks back from this date so will provide presnt information concerning how UNT is reacting to this situation.
the university for multipal weeks has paused all gallery exhibitions in it's main building due to them essentially rewriting the rules to ensure something like this dosn't occured again. and all of the art exibits that were suppost to be shown now need to be re-evaluated to see if they comply to their new guidelines
"The Board of Regents hereby directs the chancellor and presidents of their respective campuses to approve and adopt policies regarding art in public spaces and that such policies be approved and adopted in full compliance with applicable and state federal and state constitution and law,” Regent Lindy Rydman said during the meeting."
"Once guidelines and policies are implemented, all exhibitions scheduled for the rest of the spring semester and the summer will need to be re-evaluated according to those guidelines, Senior Director of University Relations Melisa Brown said."
this all coming off the controversy of the palistinian displays prior.
All Union Art Gallery exhibitions scheduled through the summer are on hold pending the creation, by campus officials, and verification of ne
Now, the gallery has been extensively censored, including wide barriers across it's entrances and gaps, makeing it difficult to even see whats in the gallery without actively going through the snaking entrance. Think of how you'd enter a hunted house attraction for a comparable experinace.
current entrance. before the incident there were no barriers and you could freely see inside the gallery well away from where the barriers are now.
what the entrance looks form the inside of the gallery.
new disclaimer the university added. this is seen between the newly added snakeing entrance.
for more information regarding these events here is some readings you may be able to get information from

I do not wish to leave the reader hopeless, so I will state that the prior lecture that the politicians wished to be canceled "The Palestinian Children and Politics of Genocide,” was, dispite their protest, allowed to continue and the event taken place.
