I have a question...
Do you get annoyed by people who don't care about anything?
I have friends that I am honestly trying so hard to enthuse about anything that is happening around us (about art, theatre, music, politics, about culture, about religions, history, sports, the news etc.).
They think that everything is useless, that it isn't important in life etc. One of those friends yelled at me a few days ago because I said to her that protestant and orthodox church are not the same, because she said that in Serbia there are protestants (I think that this is general knowledge - and something an intelectual should know). She said that she has enough general knowledge and that she will use her time more usefully than reading or educating herself on that kind of topic...
I am so annoyed by that kind of behaviour because when I start a discussion on a topic that they don't know anything about, they dismiss it as "boring", "stupid", "useless" etc.
I understand that we have different interests and different goals in life. But I am horrified by that kind of approach to learning, studying and discussing different topics by students that are taking one of the hardest courses at the best Uni in our country.
I did not write this to judge them. I just want to open a discussion on this topic because that kind of approach to life scares me. I also want to open a discussion - what do you guys think? And have you ever been in a similar position?

Ugh I can't wait for my meeting with the department head to be over tomorrow so I can finally put this shit storm that has been the past 2 months behind me. At the same time it makes me want to cry and throw up. Thanks anxiety!
If you can't beat then, join them, right? All I can hear right now is my upstairs neighbour playing his music and singing along - it's literally like a personal concert. And while he has a lovely voice and surprisingly good taste in music, I'd quite like to sleep. Instead I've resorted to laying in the dark and singing along as well! Might as well give up.
