Pj’s Daycare

but my Aus redesigned

Since i’ve been redesigning my Aus and rethinking their whole gimmicks, I thought i’d do the same with the PJ’s Daycare version of them with additional information about them in the Alt text

I’ve arranged them from oldest to youngest and if any of them seems interesting, more posts will come about them don’t worry

I tried to emulate the style to the best of my ability

Welcome to Unjusttale

*How was the fall ?

This is the beginning of the very first part of the Unjusttale Au, which has been in the making since over 4 four years now, through edgyness and redesigns and changing dynamics, it’s finally happening and I cannot wait to show you what has been brewing in my noggin’

While the story is still in development, the first part is already fully thought out and just needs to be illustrated, which might take time given i’m a Uni student

But, the question is..

The whole Au is basically "what if all the characters were pushed to their extreme and flipped in a different direction"

For exemple, Temmie is a merchant, selling her items to any monster who was passing by Tem Village, so it made sense for me to make her an "old rich" who had connection to sell her goods in major shops but also have imported from elsewhere

Muffet is a baker, a small business owner, so making her a popular figure in the underground who regularly trades with big names felt right at home

Papyrus is a goofball who wants to be loved and aspire to be a royal guard, so i decided to not only make him head of the royal guard but also a serious leader but still caring his reputation, just in a different way

UNJUSTTALE III

The merchants

Previous attempts

Temmie was the first one i did and she definitely was the one I had the most trouble with, mostly her vibe and overall demeanor, I wanted to make her like an old rich lady who puts class and business above all else, hence the cigarette holder, the furcoat and the dress, mostly because I couldn’t draw her paws

I wrestled with an on the shoulder brown coat but quickly opted for a losely hanging blue coat to keep up with her original palette while accentuating the yellow to gold to show wealth

Muffet was the first I thought of giving the furcoat and an almost ballerina like stance, given her greedy nature, but I couldn't find a way to make it work in a way that did not smother her, so I gave up on it and focused on trying the head and hair

The jacket and scarf were quick to come when i gave up the furcoat for Muffet, so I just needed to focus on how to make everything fit together for her design

The fur on the jacket is used to link her for a future plot point in the story, a very important plot point trust me trust me

For Grillby he was figured out from the very beginning, back when the Au wasn’t named "Unjusttale" but "Underpurge" very edgy i know i was struggling to find a personality that wouldn’t just be " fanon Underfell but worse" which was one of my biggest problem back then, he was always meant to be a tall, top heavy rock guy but his overall character was never really fully fleshed out

Then he turned into an ice wall with anything but a personality and that didn’t work either because he just wasn’t memorable

UNJUSTTALE IIII

The ruin dwelers and the lonely queen

(Probably the last character showcase I share for now until I finally start working on illustrating the story)

Previous attempts

Most of the attempts came from Flower, Prickley in the Unjusttale Au

At first I wanted him to be a thistle but that quickly fell down the drain because it just a purple Flowey with an additional 6 quils and that just wasn’t working

Then I tried for a more traditional look look with added thornes, I even considered making him a rose but I didn’t him to be confused with Rosey from Underlust, so a "crown a thornes" was the best choice for me, same for his new personality

The only real thing that changed with Toriel was that she was going more *gifted* than need so I toned it down a bit, but other than that she’s always had this sort of royal aura to her

Frisks design was decided a long time ago, i just had trouble drawing and giving them the proper attitude, in very early drafts they were very mean spirited and almost unlikable, but now they’re more of a "cautiously trusting" type

UNJUSTTALE 1

The skelebros

I’ve finally went around to create a proper sheet for my undertale Au’s skelebros, I might post a personality sheet on both either here or on another blog dedicated to them I dunno

Previous attempts

Sans’ design was changed a lot over the years, mostly because of his change of character who started as an edgy douche who was the "i remember you’re genocides" unironically and just hated his brother for no reason

Papyrus on the other hand was changed the most, he first started as the most miserable, pathetic monster in the underground, just a a total wimp who was hated by his brother for no reason, i later changed his personality to be a bit more serious with only his style of showing his clothes changing and his edginess of course

Those two very basic concepts are were the breakthrough on what i wanted them to be

This is where I got the closest to the current design, which Papyrus gave me the most trouble, the color scheme stayed the same, the only added thing was more yellow accents around the body to make them pop more

Edit: Papyrus got a bit of a redesign, mostly his scarf and pants as his silhouette looked a bit too dense for me

This is also to show his more theatrical side he tends to keep to himself on the job

UNJUSTTALE UPDATE

This is officially the Start of the unjusttale comic i’ll be making, which will be posted on a seperate blog fully dedicated to the Au for simplicity

While no page will come out right away, i’ll still be working on it while filling in with other drawings made simply for fun here

My optimal work ethic is to do at least 10 drawings at my own pace to post every time i’m done working, in order to prevent burnout

UNJUSTTALE 11

The Hotland scientist and the big time star

Previous attempts

Believe it or not, Alphys only went through 2 sketches and color palette before i got the design I wanted, i had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted her to be, mad scientist and a bit vitiligo to make her pop out a bit more

The yellow accents are carried over from Sans and Papyrus to keep a sense of connection, but also added to show them working for Lord Asgore, all having yellow to show their position

Mettaton’s design was thought of a while ago but never drawn, the only change is the Papyrus like face on his screen that got scrapped because i just couldn't make it work

Mettaton also shows the symbol of the royal guards when he is on duty and not on TV, given the fact he built for human capture first and TV ratings seconds

And yes, he has 6 arms, because glamour could always use more arms, much to Alphys’ dismay
