hello all! I am still working on the master post of The Matron, but in the mean time, I thought I'd introduce myself and her to the tumblr pagan community.

So- I am an oracle of an unknown god. She has been with me for most of my life, and as such we are rather close. She is a masked goddess, a secretive goddess- and for good reason. I do not wish to betray her privacy, but she is unknown on purpose.

That is not to say that she does not want to interact with people- she's just reserved.

Her goal is to aid and comfort the lonely- she is there for the lonely living, animal and human, and the lonely dead. She knows loneliness well, and wishes to ease others pain.

I associate her with a few other things- masks, shapeshifting, death. but also- illusions and chaos. I associate her with moons, and gloomy weather as well- winter and blizzards. (not that shes a goddess OF these things or a ruler over any of these, just that they seem to be interests of hers)

She often appears as a black haired and eyed woman, wearing a white, relatively featureless mask. however, as I got to know her better, she has also appeared without the mask. she often wears black robes, and has a large staff or perhaps walking stick? she is capable of casting magic as well, however I do not think that that is a major association of hers.

I do not know what else to add? but I feel this is a decent primer on her.

The White King: Clarification

Attempting to get further clarification of his origin and/or personal definition, I’ve brought up some concepts to The Stag. 

He is really, really bothered by the concept of modern paganism / wicca / etc. He does not like me reading much into it at all, and discourages me from doing so. He’d much rather me just make up my own shit, as far as I can tell, than to read the ‘bullshit of others’ (not a quote, but more or less the feeling i get from him) since at least what I make up will be symbolic and have a personal attachment and history.

Due to this sort of attitude from him, i’ve found myself at a loss of how to proceed in my practice. I maintain my altar for him, but it seems to have stagnated at that. I think it’s also probably due to life circumstances; I find myself trapped indoors a lot of the times with little access to privacy or nature, or privacy in nature, which is probably a huge issue.

Anyway, tonight I spent some time prodding him. I did eventually get some clarifications out of him. The way he communicates is... I suppose the best way to describe it is perpendicular to regular speech, it makes sense in a sideways way, and can take a bit to get a coherent concept fully from him. It’s as if spoken language doesn’t come naturally to him, as he does tend to prefer visions during meditation and emotional responses. But as I haven’t gotten the time or energy to really relax myself fully to meditate for him, I haven’t had a proper vision with him in a while.

I asked him about what to research. After a few minutes of garbled, almosted flustered responses, he managed to express to me he wants me to start research from the beginning of human history up until the point it makes sense to me to stop. And by the beginning, he means, as early as human history as we understand. Prehistory, basically. I had already gotten some pretty positive affirmations of when I was reading about and watching documentaries on paleolithic era / human evolution stuff in the past, so I assume he wants me to resume with that area of research.

I suppose I’ll humor him, and write about my findings here.
