Hinata only half-registered Komaeda’s voice beside him, nearly losing the words between the quiet whir of the overhead fans and the low hum of the well-stocked refridgerators. Only just realizing his vision had blurred out of focus, Hinata blinked. Once. Twice. Slowly but surely the colors and shapes in front of him realigned into a sea of plastic bottles and aluminum cans - an ocean of variety that was almost dizzying in its sheer range and volume.
It was still hard to believe a convience store like Rocketpunch Market could exist on such a remote island - especially with the amount of international brands and all-purpose goods it boasted.
‘Though, to be fair,’ Hinata rationalised with himself, tapping a knuckle against the foggy glass, ‘if the visitor pamphlets are real, I guess it’d make sense for Jabberwock. A kitschy supermarket definitely lends itself to the whole anti-resort gimmick they w-’ A soft exhale interrupted his thoughts and Hinata whipped his head towards Komaeda, who was smiling patiently beside him.
“Oh - Komaeda. I zoned out. What was that?” Hinata replied, an awkward smile that didn’t quite share the same air of formality as Komaeda’s slowly creeping across his face.
