Cody (the frontman for Set It Off) was streaming on Twitch yesterday, and for a subgoal, he sung four songs live and ‘Unopened Windows’ was one of them.  Making this was pretty therapeutic both because it’s a beautiful song, and also because something happened to me recently that made me personally relate to its message. The color scheme here was picked from the ‘Midnight’ album cover, which I thought was pretty cool.

In the last chorus of when he sang it live, Cody sang “they tear us apart” instead of “they tear me apart” and I thought that it gave that line a whole new weight, what with him singing it live to people who do resonate with the message of the song. Because they really do tear us apart.

Decided to make a short animatic because when I heard this song I immediately thought of Ponyboy.
