The incident in B City was a truly horrifying incident that Ripple couldn’t understand. Why had it happened? How had it happened? What had even happened? Despite being a participant, even Ripple wasn’t aware of the full story. No matter how much she tried to piece things together with the other survivors, it seemed that things were always missing.
Ripple couldn’t understand how Pukin, Sonia Bean, Tot Pop and Pity Frederica came to be in B City. She couldn’t understand how things had so quickly taken a turn for the deadly.
She’d only been in the city for a job interview, but that was another mystery entirely. Why had the interview taken place in B City? The more she thought about it, the less sense it all made.
Returning back to her day-to-day life after that incident was near impossible. How could she go to work or study knowing that someone like Frederica was running free and a weapon as powerful as Pukin’s sword was still unaccounted for? Even speaking to 7753, who was another survivor of the incident, or Snow White, who was her closest friend, didn’t help calm her worried heart.
Somewhere deep down, Ripple knew that this incident was just the beginning of something bigger.
There was no one to talk to about those concerns, however. The Namiyama magical girls had no idea about the workings of the Land of Magic, Mana was still in hospital and Ripple just didn’t have the heart to make 7753 or Snow more paranoid.
Then, before Ripple was even given a chance to calm the conspiracies running through her mind, the Land of Magic contacted her and dropped another problem on her shoulders.
This problem was called ‘Rain Pow’.
Rain Pow had been the assassin in B City. Ripple had personally defeated her and had expected her involvement with her to end there. But apparently not.
The Land of Magic official informed Ripple that the Land of Magic had been shaken to the core by the B City incident and with both the gulf in power left by the death of Mao Pam and the prison system being brought under scrutiny, they had no other options for Rain Pow. As the only surviving member of the B City investigation team capable, they humbly requested her assistance once again.
Ripple didn’t really have any choice but to accept.
And that was how Ripple came to be staring down at Rain Pow once again.
“...For now, you’re in my custody.” Ripple informed the girl simply. She had no idea if anyone had told her anything yet. She hoped so, not really wanting to be stuck with that job. “Do you understand?”
