Who knows good lessons or books on the study of UDK and UnrealScript?
Who knows good lessons or books on the study of UDK and UnrealScript?
People who really need your help, please tell me, who can know? I am looking for video tutorials, books, all that is connected with UDK and UnrealScript! Original post

I just learned how to make it so the player can trigger events and stuff in UDK; I am so disproportionately proud of making a door open, you guys don't even know.
It seems like it uses exactly the same system for events as RPG Maker XP, just with a different interface. I don't know if the interface will be easier or more difficult to use, yet (since I'm so new to it, it's ALL difficult), but time will tell.
As far as building stuff in 3D goes, it's pretty intuitive, although for some reason it doesn't like to cooperate with my tablet. It'll function, but when scaling objects it interprets every 1mm shift of the pen as a 1m wild swing of a mouse, for some reason, so I've still got to find some settings to mess with to fix that (or else figure out where on earth my mouse went in the move). If anyone has any tips for dealing with this, I'd be really grateful.
(for the record, the Hogwarts game will NOT be built in UDK. Although it would be awesome, it would be way too much work for one person)
DARE TO BE DIGITAL 2011 ENTRY (WINNER OF INTEL VISUAL ADRENALINE AWARD)
This was made in nine weeks for Dare to be Digital 2011, UK's premiere video game design competition for students, by Team Funbox (5 members) which included me. It was made using the Unreal Development Kit. This is an action-adventure game, targeted primarily towards kids. In this the player controls an ant and fights enemies, solves puzzles and jumps across platforms to proceed.
ROLES
Puzzle and other interaction design and implementation using Kismet scripting
UI design and programming in Flash and Scaleform
Material creation using the Unreal Material Editor
Lighting the level
We won the Intel Visual Adrenaline award for the best looking game at Dare to be Digital 2011.

2010: UDK LEVEL DESIGN [COLLEGE WORK]
This level was made in Unreal Development Kit entirely by me in college, using assets provided by the UDK content browser. While working on this I wrote the story, drew the story-boards, created level layouts and set areas where combat would take place and finally created and scripted the level in UDK. The story is set in the distant future and begins with the protagonist's spaceship crash landing on an undiscovered alien planet (Influenced by Unreal's opening). Upon exploring for a bit, the player finds the native alien race is being dominated by an invading alien species. This is the first level of that story and has the player starting from his crashed spaceship, meeting a friendly native, fighting hostile guards and planting explosives to escape to the train station.
A in game engine view of a 3D enviroment I created using UDK (Unreal Develoment Kit). using low poly modeling methods and texturing using UV maps I took this project through a different art style.
ahhhh it's coming along so nicely! ^^ another wip
