A little glimpse into the little world I’ve created in Unreal Engine. Everything is a big work in progress as I mainly do it to learn some new things
This is what I’ve been up to, working in Unreal 4 for school again. Our project is creating a set of encounters using basic assets. The only ones in here I created were the Dice robot, the green spring, check point, and some really basic things. What’s the main focus is on is the scripting and level design, which I did myself. The dice robot does use the third-person template, but I changed a lot of it’s movements to fit what I want.
This has a lot of problems, like the sound being repetitive, the lighting being bad, and I’m not a fan of charging to jump so much. I also think the collection mechanic doesn’t add that much in such a linear area.
However, I’m working on a new level design now. It uses the same character, but adds a couple more mechanics, obstacles, and cut scenes to make it more interesting. I don’t know what I can do about graphics and sounds in the short time I have left. I can’t say the final build will be linked, but if enough people have an interest in it, I could take some extra time trying to polish the one stage demo up better.
Aside from this, I’ve had to handle an essay class, extended hours for my tutoring job, and a teaching assistant position. I haven’t had time to even think about Poppin and Jupa, let alone develop anything for it. I’m hoping to pick up on that mid-november, but around that time I’ll be shifting to the next part of my life and trying to get a job, so who knows how stable updates will be.

I was trying to trim the top off a cone and I didn’t know how to do that, which made me realize I had never learned all the Geometry editing tools in UnrealEd.
I was installing Visual Studio 2019 to explore it, mainly for work, when I noticed, woah... optional gaming components.
