Welfare Reform? NO!
One of Mitt Romney's ideas for his election is a Welfare reform. He understands that the program is an absolutely terrible idea, but I think something stronger needs to be done. I believe that the whole program should be rid of! Now...all you liberals are going to come at me, "what about all the poor people who don't have jobs, or who cant wort due to disability and such?" (I don't need to go on. You get the point) my response to that is that we need a completely new program! I have no problem helping out the people who cannot help themselves, such as those injured and such. There are also people that are unemployed. That's a different issue. The problem I have is the people who abuse the program, and currently, the government is doing nothing to stop this abuse(liberals don't want to risk losing votes). For this reason, we need a new program: a program that analyzes each applicant and determines if they actually need the supplement. People on this new program will have restrictions on what they can and cannot purchase with the supplement. There is very little of that now. If people are not disabled, and are on the supplement, they will be required to do community service: sweeping sidewalks, shoveling snow, cleaning town hall, etc. Currently, disability is very much abused. Fat is not a disability. Drug addict, alcoholic, and tattoo/piercing freak is not a disability. A person that is missing a leg; that is a disability. To add: illegals wouldn't even be able to apply(if found out). That is still another issue I will deal with later. But to close this off, this welfare program doesn't need reform. It needs to be destroyed and a new one implemented. This will help the economy, create more jobs and businesses, and eventually lower the poverty level significantly. The current program is increasing the poverty level every day. We need something like this very soon, before it's too late.
