Ernessa had been teaching at this particular university for about a week now, she often preferred the spring term to teach but due to scheduling issues she had to settle for winter. Of course, the snow, the grey clouds, and the migrating birds all gave way to beautiful scenery and many lively discussions on the meanings of beauty, stasis, and immortality. A student of hers, a girl in her late twenties had jokingly offered her literature professor as an example of beauty. Though she had been there a while, she was yet to grace the office given to her in the English department and did not know much of the staff other than the dean. Her curiosity piques she found herself sitting in the class with the said student, watching Professor Yukimura teach.
She had to admit he was beautiful, there was very little room to deny. He spoke in confidence, his body language seemed relaxed and Ernessa could swear she saw a mischievous glint in his eyes. There was a rousing discussion happening amongst students, she listened carefully but did not contribute to it. She smiled when one of the students brought up a research paper she had co-authored. Hiding it behind her phone, pretending to type instead of listen.
Her elective was a small class so only her student knew who she was, and Ernessa had her promise not to tell so that she could spy in peace. She scribbled a question to her student and slid the paper towards her, requesting that she contribute to the discussion on her behalf. Amy, read the request then interjected herself into the conversation. Ernessa smiled in secret, and listened carefully to the responses, especially from the male students. One in particular had her laugh, and she did her best to stifle it before it filled the room. She buried herself more into her phone, though all she was looking was the wallpaper picture of her cat. She lifted her eyes briefly, and smiled, thinking to herself this was certainly a good way to spend her free periods.
