        no more than anyone else. annette is afraid of everything & everyone, whether there is a reason or not. hands fidget, tongue fumbling over what few words she can string together without making too much of a fool of herself. fingers fiddle & her head tilts a little, piecing together syllables to try not to sound like she’s petrified -- she isn’t, really, any more than usual. “a-ah -- no, no, of ... of c-course not -- ! i ... r-really, no, i’m ... this is -- isn’t y-your fault.”
