I hope you all are staying warm and cozy today. I'm nice and cozy here in the shop un-sewing a quilt top I've been working on. Many think that un-sewing takes forever, well let me share a tip with you that allows it to go so much faster! Not many realize the importance of the red ball tip on your seam ripper. This little red ball will have you zipping through seams in no time! Holding the seam between your thumb and forefinger insert your seam ripper, red ball tip side down, inbetween your fingers holding the seam. Carefully slide the seam ripper towards the hand holding the fabric to easily cut the thread. The red ball tip allows the seam ripper to glide in between the two fabrics you ar un-sewing. Go slowly at first until you become comfortable with the movements, then you will be zipping along in no time! And as the ladies of the quilt retreat said a few weeks ago, bargello really is a new swear word! Oh bargello!
