Tapping his cane-sword impatiently on the ground, Break waited for a carriage to pull around to the front. Once it arrived, he quickly hopped in, directing the driver to bring him to town. It shouldn't be too long, fifteen minutes or so, which was good. He hated long rides, he wasn't patient enough for that.
Although it was not yet afternoon, there were already important cases for him to be investigating. A pain, more than anything else, especially since it appeared as though this was going to be nothing more than another stupid contractor. There was nothing challenging about that, and people like that didn't even deserve his time. No matter. Work was work, and it was all the reports he was dreading more than anything. Besides, it just provided him with a chance to stop by at his favorite candy store, and that was never a bad thing.
The time passed quickly, and soon Break found himself in the outskirts of town. This is where most of them were, after all. It was day time, so it would be a bit trickier to find them since contractors mostly came out at night, but that was of no relevance. No, this would be a piece of cake.
Oh, that was a nice thought, actually. He could do with some sweets.
Now it just became a matter of getting rid of this idiot. Might take an hour at the least. Let's hope so, he wasn't willing to waste any more time than what he needed on such a useless mission.
With a lollipop in his mouth, and boots clunking against the stone roads, he headed into town. Best to get this over with then.
