I have to go to therapy today and I'm worried because I have to start EMDR today and I've never done it before. What do I do??

(( mod j is having emdr so lets talk about it. my therapist let me use my headphones and i held a little remote-sized thing in each hand. theres a beep in the left or right ear, and the thing in the matching hand vibrates.

so basically i sat there, and held the things, and listened to the beeps. my therapist told me to think of a place i felt safe in, and tried to get me to recall as many details about it as i could. what i could feel, hear, see, smell, ect. and once i got a ton of details down, and was remembering the good feeling from the place. and then i came up with a phrase that represented it and tried to connect the nice feeling with the phrase.

and then i said the phrase out loud and that was that. according to wikipedia thats only phase two of like eight?? but since youre starting that should be what happens! it was really relaxing i had it yesterday and still feel nice when i think about it

Hey, I know you have a huge backlog, but do you have any resources for people who might have autism? I was looking at the 'symptoms' (I hate that term but that's what it said on the page) of Aspergers and I experience almost all of them on a daily basis. I would be high-functioning on the spectrum, but I'm still worried. Can you help?

(( im going to answer this ooc bc i do get this a lot on my personal but to preface it: autism is rad and u are rad and functioning labels are not rad and are pretty much a game of 'how allistic can u act?' which is the shittiest game in the world its worse than monopoly

talking to autistic people about it is great and is going to probably provide the most help.

Hey, guys. I just thought I should give you a heads up that your reputation is kind of taking a hit across the fandom... There's been a Sollux RPer going around being kind of a jerk to people about their RPing, both IC and OOC, and he keeps marking himself as "the motivationstuck guy." I don't know if he's actually affiliated with you, but if he is, you may want to talk to him about linking you guys to the things he says.

You mean on Gigapause and Flarping?

Okay, hello, I RP Sollux on both those sites. Sollux is kind of an asshole, and I try to keep him in-character, but if I ever come across as a Jerk OOC or if my Role Playing ever makes anyone uncomfortable, you can honestly just say so.

I don’t bite but I’m not a mind-reader. I can’t tell if you’re upset unless you talk to me, and I’ll often message people privately if an RP is getting particularly heated to make sure that OOC, everything is cool.

I also don’t bash people for their RPing at all. There are these things called Alternative Character Interpretations that people are allowed to have. I know there are some people (Not naming names because I’m not an asshole.) mainly on Gigapause who do that, but I’m not one of them. Actually, I choose not to interact with them, mainly because they remind me of every petty bully I had to deal with growing up.

To clarify which accounts are mine and which are not mine, in case there really is someone else going around.

(Urgent) Hi I'm sorry to make this urgent but I've been given some dietary supplements from my aunt because she thought they would improve my health but when I started taking them I felt really wrong so I stopped. My dad just came into my (part 1)

Room asking me if I had taken them, ans when I said no, he told me that he'd shove them down my throat if I didn't. Help?

weve discussed this together and we feel that this is a huge major red flag

from the fact that your aunt got them for you and your dad is reacting so strongly we feel they might be trying to get you on a medication without your informed consent

all medications warn you not to eat if the seal is broken

hell even snapple tells you not to drink it if the seal is broken

this is absolutely a huge red flag & abuse

take the bottle and go to the cops 

they can figure out what it is
