ART // One year ago, I called my lovely and talented photographer friend, Heather B Allison, to shoot a few lifestyle photos of me to post along with the press announcement of my upcoming novel. The following day the Seattle rain stopped, as if on cue, moments before we met on my balcony. We roamed around the garden balcony, in the pale grey afternoon light, lost in our conversation about love, dreams, friendship, adventure, music, and our mutual love for creating art. Moments later, as Heather went to take her first shot of me leaning on my balcony, she asked what my book was about. I couldn’t help but smile sheepishly and respond, “It’s about moments like these.”
It’s been 12 short months since that conversation with Heather on the balcony. My days have continued to be filled with countless moments, some inspirational and amazing, some filled with creating art and listening to music, some filled with silence and meditation, some incredibly tough and trying, but every single one magnificent in its own way. Cheers to experiencing many more moments…Until the Beat Stops.
