I know this is literally irrelevant, but there's a "Cutscene" folder in the VO folder with just 5 or so tracks that are probably from the early beginnings of the game, because they are all labeled "placeholder" (though they sound voice acted with the right people).
Two of those don't leave me the fuck alone.
One is the hangar scene, but with a little different (longer) scene between Emily and Vincent (cutted to the relevant path):
E: "I heard about Carol. How are you holding up?"
Paired with the fact that the voice-over where Carol calls the ambulance is labeled "CarolsEnding", I can't stop to wonder what the hell they had on the draft boards for that.
The second are the two files in the phone booth folder, which are outrageously muffled to hell and back, but are someone (James) speaking over the phone with Vincent. The "captain" one is somewhat audible when you kill the bass in audacity, but my audio magic skills are shit, so that's as far as I could go. I managed to put something of a transcript together: https://pastebin.com/wQgdwuv1 (if you plan on trying to figure it out yourself, don't click on it immediately, though. Or perhaps do and spare you the trouble of pouring unhealthy amounts of time into this)
oh this is fascinating, I love it, thank you for sharing it!
I couldn't understand a damn thing when I first listened to these two muffled audios, so I just assumed they were unusable and forgot about them, but now I need to know what they are and why they exist.
I tried to edit both files but my audio editing skills are, uh… nonexistent. Here's my attempt:
If anyone wants to make an attempt at editing these files, here are the originals:
Also, what the HELL is this file (found in the "TrailerParkEnd" folder)?
(bit of a warning, the crying combined with the distorted audio quality is unsettling af)
