“You might ask: what can a mural do? A mural alone does not bring change...But never underestimate the power of art to inspire social justice. These stories matter and this movement for social justice must continue.” - LA 4th District Councilman David Ryu, seen here at the Unveiling the Mural event July 7th (organized by @black_womenlead and @laughfactoryhw). Through @artsbridgegap , 5 black artists created the mural commissioned by the Laugh Factory and Councilman Ryu: Alexandra Allie Belisle, Amanda Ferrell Hale, Noah Humes, PeQue Brown and Shplinton. The 148-ft mural in Hollywood honors the Black lives lost to police violence and the movement for social and racial equality. Also featured here is comedian @angelinaspicer, who spoke about racial health disparities, and D4P members who attended the event. ✊🏽✊🏼✊🏾✊🏿 #blacklivesmatter #blackwomenlead #artsbridgingthegap #unveilingthemural #laughfactory #docs4poc (at The Laugh Factory) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCZweQpHhy5/?igshid=1qsd9mnitjfkw
