preserve: shamar 8104 (Hebrew) be circumspect, hedge about, ward off danger; obedient loyalty to revealed instruction; interior faithfulness, moral discipline, mental attentiveness and spiritual vigilance are linked together by this term. Equally, divine faithfulness and human responsibility are a reciprocal, and inseparable, pair.
