Diana’s bookshelf was full-- full to the extent that extra books were piled on top of her coffee table, small kitchen table and nightstand. She had ordered a new bookshelf to match her current one, luckily. Or maybe unluckily, she realized as she stood by the mailboxes in the apartment lobby, watching the heavy, awkward box as if it might lunge at her. She hadn’t really thought about how she would get it up to her place. Or maybe she had just assumed Jinseok would be around to help her, which he wasn’t.
“Maybe if I just...” She tried to wrap her arms around the long, flat box, but she could barely drag it, let alone lift it off the ground. Crap. She did not want to leave it there, in the way, but Jinseok was not going to be back from work until late and he was the only person she could think of to help her with this.
She sighed, stepping back to stare at the box as if she could make it lighter by sheer force of will. That was when she noticed someone standing behind her, which sent a thrill of nerves through her. “Sorry! Did you need to get into your mailbox? I can try to move this if it’s in your way--”
