yl’lynn sure did pick a hell of a time to get summoned to this damned academy; a test was going on, and one that surely seemed like a doozy. her powers were robbed from her the very moment she was accepted and they were explained, and instead, she was given a permanent marker. one of the absolute least useful things to her.
along with that, she seemed to be assigned team leader of a group with a goody two-shoes. a girl who literally dedicated her entire life towards saving humanity, that which lynn herself had personally despised with all of her heart. she found it to be such an odd stroke of luck, that out of any human (or non-human, which was preferable in all honesty) in the entire school to be paired up with, she had to be paired up with the ‘savior of humankind,’ or something like that.
she hadn’t gone too far out of her way to make small talk with this girl. just because they were on a team together didn’t necessarily mean that they had to get along perfectly and become best friends after it all. in fact, that was the exact opposite of what she wanted -- she’d much rather prefer if this girl would just die on the spot and let yl’lynn return back to hiraeth academy, then hopefully back to her own home.
though the only way it seemed possible for her to get out was to continue through and find the exit. through some adventuring through the maze, the team had come across a door -- perhaps, they had it easy and only had to advance through the maze itself to get to the next challenge? though, when the kaldorei stepped forwards to open the door, she heard a click just above her and shot back just in time to get out from under a massive statue of a man keeled over with his hands over his ears. “only a pure of heart and mind may pass. confess what darkens your heart, what haunts your dreams, and what regret falters your step.” it had spoken to them. the statue, this sculpture of rock - it spoke to them. and to top that off, it told them to confess their deepest, darkest secrets.
at that, lynn’s eyes widened. her deepest, darkest secret... that would be her entire life, would it not? she glanced over to her teammate for a moment and gulped. “...why don’t you go first?” this was one of the first times in her life she’d ever truly felt nervous. she was about to confess everything and be without her powers to defend her. she stepped back and held a hand out with a nod, gesturing for the other to speak to the statue.
