Some light work for my dissertation this Saturday - making a database of sorts on all the runestones mentioning women. Time-consuming, but it’s actually really fun! I’m about 60% done with my sample chapter which is due in December, and I have started to prep the presentation for the mini-conference we’ll have on the 11th. I am also trying to juggle my three other assignments as well, so it’s going to be a fun few weeks ahead.

Currently reading for a class while in bed, wrapped in a blanket, because it’s cold and I want to be cozy. My dissertation work is going forwards (it’s due in about 2 months and I’m terrified now!), a bit better now after I had a meeting/handover with my supervisor(s), and discussing what had me completely stuck on a chapter last week. But now it’s all better, and when I got home afterwards I moved some stuff around, and found my words again! But now I’m switching to some reading to prep for this week of classes, one of which is this afternoon.

Posted this to instagram today! Because it was supposed to be today that I graduated from uni, if there hadn’t been a global pandemic.

🎓 today should have been my (our) graduation day. 🎓

4 years of university:

3 times the lecturers striked,

1 giant snowstorm that cancelled both classes and a fieldtrip,

1 dissertation with visits to 50+ runestones,

and 1 pandemic later,

- I have an archaeology degree!

It’s been an amazing ride all the way through, and I am so happy that we made it! ✨

Went to the library to borrow books and scan some of them (both for essays and my dissertation), and now I’m going to plan my essay on spontaneous shrines and runestones. The next two weeks will be very stressful, and now I am starting to wish I had done more work before, but I’ll handle this! My lecturers are striking this week and the next, so at least I have more time in the day to work on these assignments...

(Failed) Cinnamon buns as a snack, and reading about museums, which feels like a good afternoon! Finished a short draft for an assignment this morning, and did some errands (despite the horrible weather) both at the bank and the post office! I rewarded myself with getting a chocolate advent calendar, and now this snack, before I go to a dance class at the gym this afternoon (physical health is important!).
