More mock ups and ideas for our Hunter make-up line
Initial Ideas - crude and basic mock ups of our first thoughts on packaging and brand identity.
The rebrand rules
After doing research and exploring what direction we want to take out brand, we have decided on some design rules to keep us both on the same page.
We looked into the colour scheme of Hunter and its most recent collection and have decided to focus on bright SS14 colours and the traditional olive green. (see below)
We want to keep the make-up multi-purpose, easy to use, store and apply. This has sent us in the direction of 'stick' make up. This makes applying make up on the go easier. Like these eye pencils:
We loved the two-tone, block colour wellies and want to make this a key focal point in our designs. The glossy tops keep the design classic yet contemporary.
CHEVRONS. Using the chevron design on the heel of the boot adds a subtle reference to the outdoors. We want to look at perhaps debossing it onto the make up (lipsticks, powders) and onto the top of the lids.
Its all about:
Glossy
Two-tone, block colour
subtle chevrons
stop uv
limited colours
simple design
contemporary
multi-purpose
Hunter at LFW SS14
This February, Hunter Original launched its highly anticipated debut collection at London Fashion Week under the new creative direction of Alasdhair Willis. From researching and sourcing new fabrics to planning and building the elaborate set design, months of dedication and hard work went into this pivotal moment in Hunter’s 158 year history.
A styling team of over 100 ensured that each model was given the new Hunter Original ‘look’ which involved highlighting and accentuating their natural features, while hair was wetted and put back into loose ponytails.
Fusing together the brand’s spirit of exploration and adventure with its sense of tradition and heritage, the colourful Hunter Original collection was inspired by deep-sea and space exploration, and included metallic coats, cracked leather bags and a range of scuba-inspired products, while the accessories and knitwear collections incorporated the moustache design detail from the iconic Wellington boot. Also launching at the show was the new icon, the Original Tall High Heel, a reworking of the Original Tall Boot, designed to combine the practicalities of waterproof footwear with sophistication.
During the show the atmosphere backstage was intense, but everything ran like clockwork, thanks to the meticulous planning of every detail, and the live streaming of the show was a triumph.
After the show the level of excitement was elevated further, as front row guests including Jessie J, Anna Wintour and Katy B joined model of the moment Suki Waterhouse and illusionist Dynamo (who closed the show with an astonishing and magical performance) downstairs to say hello. It was a media frenzy, and the highly anticipated appearance from Alasdhair Willis prompted a sensational response as every journalist tried to get an interview or a couple of words from him on the show. It was a proud moment for everyone who had contributed to such as successful debut show.
