I just went back and fixed it (I hope). If you go back to the conversation with August, right before going to sleep, it should be fine now. If not, tell me and I'll look again.
I think something is wrong with the story interface while on desktop. Choosing options causes the screen to flash between transitions. It's very distracting. I tried it on both Firefox and Chrome and the problem still persists. :(

Back again but I found the passage where this happens! ''You see Kosta ready to argue, when August raises their hand, stopping her. "Fine." after clicking on ''Fine'' for the next passage, the character's variables seem to change/be reset. I Hope this helps :)!

If you choose their romantic route (by selecting the option with the heart when they come at your door), yes. If you didn't choose that, then it's a bug, please tell me if it's the second one so I can fix it.
hey is telling Gus you might never be able to trust them completely in chapter 6 supposed to end the game.... ive played from chapter 2 I believe, haven't tried restarting completely yet
