Hi and welcome to my whump blog!  If you’re not sure what “whump” is, you can think of it as the hurt/comfort story genre with more emphasis on the hurt. Other definitions can be found here.

My whump preference is lighter than some; my characters get roughed up and beaten down, but generally not tortured. Lists of tropes and stories below....

Here’s how that gets distilled into fiction.  All of this is OC, as realistic as I can get it for the core storylines, plus a couple of looser AUs.

Longer Works

In the Wind is a 12,000-word story that wouldn’t let me go until I wrote it down. Caden Hale is a Memphis bounty hunter who runs into a skip when he’s not expecting to. He has a rotten night.

If that works for you, you can keep going with Wind Shear, which is how Cade deals with the aftermath of In the Wind.  (Spoiler: badly.)

Undertow should be read after Wind Shear, since it’s Donnie’s POV of the same time period. Recently finished...I think. It ends in a good place, but there might be an epilogue later.

Flash Point is in the Head Wind AU. It’s the only Cade story not written from his POV. It’s about 10K words that starts with rescue, continues with a bit of a siege, and ends with a hostage situation. I rather like it.

False Horizon is a standalone story, not part of the Cadeverse. A bodyguard and his young charge are kidnapped. After the ransom is paid and the two are released, Mark learns that he’s suspected of being the “inside man” who enabled the whole thing...which may have been the kidnappers’ plan from the start.

Longer than drabbles, these whumpy ficlets were inspired by prompts. Some of them can be grouped together, and some are standalone. I’ve organized them into their own little masterposts:

Love on the Rocks Status: In Progress Chapters: 8/12 Rating: Mature Fic Summary:  Rey meets Ben at a bar one night, and finds herself strangely drawn to him. The problem is no one else can see him, and he only shows up when she’s drinking. It’s a Reylo Modern AU where the Force Bond only works when there’s alcohol involved.

Hello GuppleDorks!

Sorry that’s what I call my stream audience lol but hello beautiful followers! It’s been a while huh? Yeahhh I’m here to apologize for that. Me and Juri had a really bad mental block for septnautical at the end of last year. I know I wanted to focus on some other projects and fanfics of mine! And then when I tried to get back to septnautical I was just... stuck.

Well thank god for you guys! Even with our unannounced and unexpected hiatus the love and passion for septnautical is still strong and we could not be happier. It’s encouraging to us and is helping us get our drive back!

With that being said I’m excited to announce we’re currently working on the next arc!! It requires a little more work but Juri has a story in the works to hopefully kick it off! And I’m starting work on better references for fan art and our new design database! This will include all the boys as well as Zara and Danan and some white suits and their uniforms.

The whole blog got a little makeover too! If you look in the description there’s quick links to the masterpost (which is now completely updated!), the art of the story by me!, fanwork including drawing and writings submitted to the blog and the new design database which shows all the canon designs of the characters in the blog! I hope this will help people in the future for fanart or just to help them picture the characters better while they read :)

So thank you guys so much for sticking around even through our mysterious bouts of silence! We plan to come back this year with a little more of a punch! We hope ya’ll with swim along for the journey ;3c
