Today is #WorldAIDSDay, where we celebrate the lives we have lost, along with all the lives that have been affected by the HIV virus and to recognize the progress that has been made in the fight to end the global epidemic of HIV/AIDS. To all my colleagues and friends who I have worked with to create a world with a better understanding about sexual health prevention and education and to help fight stigma, I thank you for your commitment and dedication! To everyone else, how will you be a leader, show commitment and make an impact against HIV? We can #StopHIVTogether by starting a conversation, raising awareness & committing to fight stigma year round! Don't know your status? Then #GetTested and #UpdateYourStatus today! It's easy and free! We must challenge ourselves to become the AIDS free generation! This is something that can be achieved if we do it together! In honor of World AIDS Day, Wake County HIV & STD Community Program hosted a program called "One Infection, Everyone Affected", that featured a panel of professionals and community members who have been impacted by HIV in some way. It was a fantastic event! #WAD2017 #PublicHealth (at N.C. Rural Economic Development Center)
