Whaaaaaat this is sick!
My thoughts on the new upgade: "Is this all you can conjure, Saruman!?"
HOW TO: Keep up with your skin's OS 3.0
I like to look at aging as upgrading. Kind of like the OS on your devices. Instead of turning 32, you are upgrading to 3.2. And of course upgrades aren't always free. Especially when upgrading involves getting skincare that can keep up with your new OS.
Considering how tech-forward we are, I think it is easier to put things into perspective when using examples that we are all familiar with. Iphone 2 then 3 then 4 then 4s, now 5 and here you are having to get a new charger for the home, car, new adapters so you can dock your phone etc.
Same goes for your skin, you were using just a good ol daily moisturizer in your twenties, then you started getting curious about a "preventative" moisturizer that would keep the fine lines away for as long as possible. But now, now you upgraded to your newest OS... 3.2 (or whichever one you were up for) and here you are contemplating on whether you should update your skincare to align with 3.2. The answer..YES!
The most important regimen in your dirty thirties is consistency. Being on top of your skincare and using the right products.
Most people tend to think they only need a moisturizer to keep their skin from aging or looking flaky. But the reality is that most products don't work unless you are using them properly and for their purpose.
Here is what you need to get started:
Clarisonic
Cleanser
Toner
Eye Cream
Face Cream (AM/PM)
Serum (PM)
FAQ's
NO, your face moisturizer can't also be used as an eye cream. The skin around the eye area is the thinnest layer of skin, face creams can cause irritation around the eye area, can be too harsh and cause serious dryness, it's simply too rich for the eye area. Will it moisturize? Yes. But dryness causes you to loose elasticity and will make fine lines appear quicker, which results in your eye area aging faster.
(Here is my technical example: charging your iPhone with your iPad charger
iPhone 4S 1,420 mAh battery (1.42 Amps)
5 Volts x 1.42 Amps = 7.1 watts
iPhone charger is 5 Volts 2.1 Amps 10 watts. Now you see the problem? Will it work Yes, but you are over charging (forcing to much current) your battery. End result you are decreasing the life of your battery.)
YES, you need to use a proper eye cream. (No, you should not charge your iPhone with your iPad charger)
YES, a toner is essential to your skincare routine, it balances your pH. Which means it balances the acidity in your skin, having balanced skin helps keep it youthful and revived.
(The technical example would be simply upgrading your APP's when an upgrade is available, otherwise the app won't run efficiently or to its fullest capacity.)
YES, a proper cleansing tool makes all the difference. Cleansing your skin properly is the first step to any skincare ritual. Clogged pores and the build up of dead skin will leave your skin looking dull and congested and ultimately not allow any of the products you are applying work efficiently.
YES, you need to own a Clarisonic (MEN & WOMEN)
(TECH example: Mac OS X(pretend this is female) and the Classic Mac OS (male) uses the free space on your hard drive as "virtual memory", and it depends heavily on that virtual memory to run efficiently. If you're starting to feel sluggish (dull, dry, breakouts) it may be because your drive is too full (your pores are congested, dead skin buildup). Cleaning out your virtual memory will improve performance (cleansing your skin properly will let your products perform efficiently).
