Pagans and witches what's your silly upgs about gods and other entities? Did the gods or the entities like something that you put in their altar or sacred space? like a toy, book or anything?

Hey Storm! If you don't mind me asking, did you deal with imposter syndrome and doubt while making/exploring your Jeweled Court? I'm having some "am I not just reflavoring X deity?" and "can I just add that to their portfolio?" doubts. Do you perhaps have any tips on dealing with that?

I still feel that way sometimes when I work with my Court although not very often anymore now that it's been a few years. It sometimes feels like "Oh hey this is hellenic worship with extra steps." but at the same time it's not because they've taken on their own forms/identities separate from others.

What helps me a lot is UPGs (Unverified Personal Gnosis) and the knowledge that I can still be spiritual even if I'm assigning my own meanings to things/Gods (ect) Sure some aspects might be similar but you can still take inspiration from it and apply it in new ways for your own stuff.

I'll use Princess Amethyst as an example:

In the DC Comics Princess Amethyst is actually an earth girl named Amy Winston who on her 13th (??) birthday gets a necklace and the ability to travel to The Gem World where she's aged up into a graceful princess with the power of crystal magic stuff to fight Dark Opal.

Now if someone else was to pick her up as a Pop Culture God they might say she's the Goddess of Realms/Portals/Travel based on her ability to go to new realms, but for me I viewed her element as being over Time.

Technically they'd both be based on the same character but someone else might have different connections to her as they too want to escape to another astral realm or something and might call on her to watch over their travels while they meditate. Neither is wrong, they're just interpreted differently.

That's all you're doing. You're applying your views/life/hopes/dreams to how you want to view your Gods and that's never a bad thing ♥

Norse Gods Vibes UPG’s (pt.1)

Thor: a big brother-y presence, protective, hardcore smells like musk, asphalt or soil, the taste of beer, the short moment right after the sun sets when the sky is halfway dark, the low rumble right after lightning stuck, physical labor in general

Hel: a slight smirk, the colors black/grey/purple/blue, the texture of fur under your fingers, the feeling of infinite power, a witty/sarcastic sense of humor, heavy silver jewelry

Odin: an intimidating presence, the taste of strong red wine, someone silently hearing you out, strength vibrating in your bones, the scent of whiskey and wood, feeling like you’re on the brink of obtaining centuries old knowledge

Freyja: the smell of flowers (and that one’s rlly clear to me), the colors pink/red/orange, a warm embrace, confidence, a colorful sun rise, a loving smile, a listening ear, the trust someone has in you, the will to fight for yourself

Baldr: a feeling of lightness, a bright blue sky, a blanket around your shoulders, a bird’s singing, kites, a feeling of love so pure it could make you cry, soft music, an endlessly compassionate presence

Freyr: a carefree laugh, a welcome rain in your garden, the smell of trees, sand filtering between your fingers, a car ride in the countryside, cold tea in the summer, tending a new plant, baking something for the first time

Loki: a spark of excitement like wanting to try something completely crazy out of the blue, strong winds, the smell of fire, a friend ready to give you advice (good or bad), old rock music, your heartbeat accelerating, finally letting go of your worries

Frigg: a motherly presence (obvs), intimidating elegance, silky fabric, the color purple, receiving advice that’s painful to hear but exceedingly accurate, shuffling a deck of cards, waking up from a super vivid dream

30 Days of Aphrodite

Day 21: Share a UPG you have about Aphrodite.

I associate moths, butterflies, and pink betta fish with her (as far as I'm aware she's never been historically associated with any of these so), and also she enjoys chocolate. I've seen a lot of people say they offer her chocolate and that she likes it but I don't think that had a historical association with her so lol

On the flip side of my Helios UPG is my Selene UPG which is that she’s the most introverted of introverts. Hence why she has her “phases”. She needs to build up the energy to be fully perceived by everyone and then once she does she needs to hide away again to recharge. She’s quiet and prefers the soft sounds of the night. She enjoys getting to know people through their dreams and the little wishes and stories they whisper to her.

I love to think that instead of a guardian angel watching over people, a Valkyrie is making sure the battles we face in our lives are victorious. The times are rough and we aren't capable of getting out of bed our Valkyrie comes in and reminds us of why we fought on for so long and so bravely, they remind us that the low is just another bump in the road and it will pass like the rain.

The Valkyrie isn't there to fight our battles, but there to make sure that our battles are victorious and when the time comes they will take us to the promised halls of Odin.

A wonderful sentiment. I actually caught myself thinking about this over coffee this morning. I've never really put much thought into what the Valkyries could possibly do with their time other than collecting fallen warriors for Odin.
