Google Keep Alternative
After trying out 6 to 7 different apps, I have found what is (in my opinion) the best replacement for Google Keep: UpNote.
My requirements for an alternative were the following:
A widget that lets me see all of my notes at once.
The ability to pin a note to the top of the list.
The ability to add both text and checklists.
A widget that lets me add a note easily.
After trialing a couple apps, I added:
The app must primarily be a note app, not a productivity tool, life organizer, knowledge base creator/manager, etc.
I should not be required to add times and dates to notes.
No (or very limited) AI.
I know that must all seem incredibly basic, but none of the apps I tried met every requirement until I tried UpNote. I'd initially skipped over this app because it looked like an Obsidian-wannabe or life organizer (and maybe it can be those things), but in practice it is very simple.
You click the button. You make a note. It also has notebooks so that you can easily organize your notes by topic, if you so wish.
It also allows you to password protect and hide notes and write in Markdown.
The app has a free version (which works perfectly well), but the paid version is either $1.99/mo or about $35 for a lifetime subscription.
