Game Review: Thora Hirds Extreme Stairlift (Commodore 64)
7/10
"Thora Hird’s Extreme Stairlift" falls short of its lofty ambitions, earning a dismal score for its frustrating gameplay and misleading premise. The game, featuring a character named Thora Hird with an uncanny yet completely unlicensed resemblance to the beloved actress, centers around the task of ascending stairs safely while dodging relentless in-game enemies called 'Sponge Kenneths'. Unfortunately, the main feature is critically flawed: the game lacks actual stairs, substituting them with poorly designed ramps that detract from the core experience. The relentless 'Sponge Kenneths' add to the frustration, as they tirelessly attempt to dethrone Thora, but the challenge quickly becomes tedious rather than engaging. Despite its potential for nostalgic charm, "Thora Hird’s Extreme Stairlift" fails to deliver a satisfying or enjoyable gaming experience.
